Add live web support to your company website - FREE!
Filed Under Development, Rants, Self-Employment, Side Projects | Leave a Comment
I was messing around looking at general open source projects out now, and came across an amazing site. Open Web Messenger does the job of enterprise support chat clients, but it is free! I at one point looked into adding this functionality to a client website but they didn’t want to pay the $20 / [...]

My credit card rate doubled!

I have a washington mutual credit card, with a modest credit line. I admittedly ran into some credit trouble and slow payment times when at college, so I like to keep a bit of a balance on my card, hovering right around 30%. I have savings with ING Direct, making a pretty decent interest rate.
I [...]

More rant on the economic bailout
Filed Under Bad Business, Business Problems, Rants | Leave a Comment
So, it’s been a while since they’ve announced the bailout. I’ve calmed down a bit, but still think it is somewhat of another “middle class gets screwed” situation.
You have an Harvard Business School alumn with a bank account of $700 billion able to write checks to anyone and everyone he sees fit. “Hank” Paulson is [...]

My Aunt Sydney told my mom about this website that is set up as a “donation” website, however, it goes one step further.
The donation you make… gets repaid. The donation is actually combined with other donations to become a small business loan to entrepreneurs in developing countries. What a fantastic idea!
Kiva.org allows you to, through [...]

Ten Mil the Hard Way - The story of Earnest Graham
What a great story. I read this in ESPN the magazine and saw it on ESPN’s site, and was happy to share it with everyone. Earnest Graham, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back, is a great guy, and subsequently is paying back a ton [...]

What do you do if you are expecting failure?
Filed Under Bad Business, Honesty, New Business Ventures, Rants, Side Projects | Leave a Comment
Failure is a part of life. We all are familiar with and understand this cliche way of looking at failure. There is no possible way that a person can go through life expecting to succeed at everything. There are those who got to where they are because they are lucky, and there are people who [...]

Worcester Restaurants - Taste Worcester
Filed Under Rants, Side Projects | Leave a Comment
There’s a great new website which covers restaurants in the Worcester, MA area. It offers dining reviews, locations, maps, pictures, and user experiences for all central Massachusetts restaurants. The site is called Taste Worcester. I consulted on the back end and SEO of the site, but was not part of the initial design of the [...]

Duh, right? Some may find this obvious, but I found out very early in studying for my GMAT and completing my application to Business School that the GMAT test and the application have common elements. In the essays that you have to write, you have to answer questions that are asked of you, or make [...]
